Pikler® DRESSING table

a lower piece of furniture with a smaller surface area than the Pikler® nappy-changing table, With supporting bars on two sides

To whom and when we recommend it

When the child regularly stands up on the nappy-changing table and towers over the caregiver, cooperation may become difficult. At this point it is recommended to move to the dressing table both for dressing the child and changing her nappy, so that it can still remain a joyful encounter for both the adult and the child and still provide opportunities for the child to become independent and gain knowledge.

When and how we recommend it

The dressing table is not large enough for a child to lie down, but she can sit down when she puts on her socks or shoes, as well as her shirt or pants.

If a child stands while her nappy is being changed or during dressing, and she seeks to find her balance while lifting a leg or bending over, the bars on two adjacent sides of the table - reaching about chest-height to the child - provide sufficient support.

It is also good if there is a small stepping stool next to the table, allowing the child to get up on her own. We suggest that the adult’s comfort should be considered when finding a place for this piece of furniture. It should be taken into consideration that they can easily reach the table, and they may also have some space to sit.
